Central location – near Vienna’s Ringstrasse

EST® Hotel Palais Chotek enjoys a central location in Vienna, close to Votive Church, Freyung, the Imperial Palace and City Hall Square, making it an ideal starting point for both leisure and business travelers. 

The elegant first class hotel, in the 9th district (Alsergrund), is surrounded by a charming Viennese neighbourhood with cozy restaurants, cafés, bars and shops. Many Vienna sights, museums, exhibitions, and must-sees are easily accessible on foot or by public transport. The U2 underground line (station Schottentor) is only a five-minute walk away. Several tram and bus stops, as well as a nearby hop-on hop-off station, offer additional convenient options to explore the city.

You can therefore enjoy Vienna at your own pace: on foot, by tram, or via the underground to the city’s most famous highlights and attractions.

Guests arriving by car can park easily in the on-site parking garage (subject to availability).

How to get to EST® Hotel Palais Chotek

By Car

Parking: 

You can stop directly in front of EST® Hotel Palais Chotek for unloading and check-in.  The hotel in central location in Vienna has its own secure underground parking garage for guests. Please note that parking spaces are limited.  If the hotel garage is full, there are several public underground garages within a short walk of the hotel.

In-house underground parking charge: EUR 38,- per day. 

Arrival: From the North  (A5 / A22):

Follow signs for Vienna (Wien Zentrum). Stay on the A22 and follow the Donaukanal towards the city centre. Take the exit toward Heiligenstadt/Schottenring and continue following signs to the city centre (Zentrum). Use local streets to reach Währinger Straße 28

Arrival: From the West/A1:

Follow the A1 towards Vienna, then follow signs for “Wien Zentrum”.
Continue on the major arteries into the inner city and follow navigation to Währinger Straße 28.

Arrival: From the South/A2:

Follow A2 towards Vienna; merge onto the A23 (Südosttangente)or follow signs to the city centre and then use the inner ring roads to reach the 9th district (Alsergrund) and Währinger Straße 28.

From the East/A4 (Airport):

Follow A4 towards Vienna; take the exit towards “Wien Zentrum” and continue on the main arterial roads into the city. Währinger Straße 28 is located in the Alsergrund district (9th district). Driving time from Vienna International Airport (VIE): around  25–35 minutes depending on traffic (approx. 20 km).

From the Train Station

From Westbahnhof: (4,5km)

By public transport: approx.10–20 minutes depending on route. Recommended to take  U3 or U6 / tram combinations to reach Währinger Straße–Volksoper
By taxi: approx.. 5–15 minutes depending on traffic.

From Wien Mitte: (3,5km):

By public transport: approx.. 10-15 minutes.  From Wien Mitte you can take the U4 (or U3+walk depending on routing) and tram/bus options to reach Währinger Straße.

From Wien Meidling: (8 km)

By public transport: approx. 20–35 minutes.  We recommend to take the U6 from Meidling (via transfer) or combine S‑Bahn/U‑Bahn and tram connections to reach Währinger Straße–Volksoper. 
By taxi: approx. 12–20 minutes depending on traffic. 

From Wien Hauptbahnhof  (Vienna central /main station): (5 km)

By public transport:  approx.  20–30 minutes depending on connections.  Typical option: take the S‑Bahn or U‑Bahn connections to the city centre and continue by U‑Bahn/tram to Währinger Straße–Volksoper.

From the Airport Vienna

Vienna International Airport VIE

By public transport: 

City Airport Train (CAT):  connects Vienna Airport with Wien Mitte – Landstraße non-stop in approx. 16 minutes. Typical CAT fares (2025) are about EUR 14.90 one‑way and EUR 24.90 return (adults). From Wien Mitte you can take a short taxi ride (approx. 10–15 minutes) or take the U-Bahn/tram combinations to reach Währinger Straße 28.

S‑Bahn (S7): The S7 rapid railway also connects the airport with Wien Mitte; it is slightly cheaper and takes about 25–30 minutes to Wien Mitte depending on the timetable. From Wien Mitte either  local public transport (U‑Bahn/tram) or taxi to the hotel. 

By car/taxi: driving distance is approx. 20 km.Travel time approx. 30 -40 minutes depending on traffic. Taxi charge approx.  EUR 30– 45 depending on time of day and route.
